Joba's Role

Since Joba's 2007 entry into the big leagues he has been a topic of much debate; whether he should be a starter or come out of the bullpen. The Yankees value him greatly as a starter, as does he, but he really should be in the bullpen.
He can hit the gun at 100 MPH regularly with movement while he is in the pen and he has the makeup to come out and intimidate. With his combination of pitches and his mental make up he has the potential to be like Jonathon Joba in the 8th innings this year is because of the man pitching in the 9th inning; Rivera is not getting any younger but, his stuff is as nasty as ever. Having Joba take 8th inning and Rivera taking the 9th the Yankees can make it a seven inning game for their starters.
Make your own decisions but, do you want 1-2 innings of dominance or 4-5 innings of an overwight and scared pitcher?

  1. Joba's ethnicity has nothing at all to do with his baseball ability.
