The bright side of Randy Winn...

Well, most Yankee fans wanted Johnny Damon to return to the pinstripes for the 2010 season, but the Yankees are making the right move by not giving him what he is asking for.
The main reason Randy Winn is here is to cushion the blow if Brett Gardner comes up lame, but let's face the facts Randy Winn isn't great. What Winn brings is decent speed, he makes contact, and plays a solid corner outfield.
Now the REAL reason why the Yankees did not give Johnny Damon 2+ years. Drumroll please..... 2011 the Yankees are saving the LF spot for Carl Crawford who can hit 30 Hrs in Yankee Stadium and steal 50 bases.
I love Johnny Damon but I can't wait to see Granderson or Gardner field a ball off the wall and throw a one hopper to home plate.

  1. You bring up an interesting point, that is really good. Carl Crawford would be a huge add to this team for the future as he is one of the very best young outfielders in the game, hands down. From my point of view the fans campaign / rumor mill to get Carl Crawford should begin now. The other young outfielder I would want is Ryan Braun, but the Brewers were smart and signed him very long term.
